1. Description: Your employer wants you to design a full-color, folding brochure to help promote the company product, service or location. The purpose of your brochure may be informational or advertising. You may choose ANY topic. Make this something you enjoy. 2. Process: The process of creating sketches required just paper and pen.  I just quickly sketched out a few ideas.  Bro. Stucki indicated in the video introducing this project that he would require some cutting out of some sort.  So I had to take that into account when doing the sketches. The logo was created in Adobe Illustrator.  I just used a

  1. Description: This assignment was to create an infographic using Illustrator.   2. Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles): Illustrator.  Everything was drawn out using shapes directly in illustrator.  The icons were just put together combining shapes.  I used principles of contrasting fonts, colors.  Also, I took into account alignment, balance, and white space.   3. Critique Report: Below is the original draft as a reference.  Brother Stucki said he liked the icons, the title and the color scheme.  He suggested maybe trying something with the background.  I tried a gradient, which I liked.  He also mentioned that the terms (names of phobias) were a bit hard

Final Letterhead: Final Business Card Front: Final Business Card Back:   Description: For this assignment we were to create a business identity including a logo, letterhead, and business card.   Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles): We were to use Illustrator primarily for the creation of the logo, and then InDesign for the layout.  I basically just used the pen tool to make fun curvy shapes for my simple loon character.  When you examine it, it really just used simple shapes.  The head (mostly), the body, and the eyes are just circles, and the wings are just circles, cut into by other circles to make football shapes.

  1. Description: On this assignment we were to merge at least 2 different photos together in Photoshop.  It had to be spiritual in nature and use masking to blend the photos together, avoiding hard edges.  This was a lot of fun to do.   2. Process (Programs, Tools, Skills, FOCUS principles): I used Photoshop as a program and that's it.  I used the masking tool to control how the edges blended from one to another.  Masking is nice because (as opposed to just erasing edges) you can move around the image OR the mask independently.  It's nice that you don't have to undo

1. Description: I've always loved sunsets!  I wish I could take amazing photos of them.  Since I'm not that great of a photographer (or have the really nice equipment to facilitate great shots) I have to settle on just enjoying them, and occasionally oil painting one! Having said that, I do think I lucked out with this snapshot that I took.  I loved the instant built-in simple complementary color scheme.  From there I just thought some lyrics to a beautiful song about the beauty of our world would be appropriate.  I took this photo Monday evening (May 16) in Idaho Falls,

Light 1: Outside I love sunrises and sunsets!  Though I see a lot more sunsets than sunrises, because as beautiful as sunrises are they aren't worth getting up in the morning.  I kind of enjoyed this shot because of the nice silhouettes that were created.  The pinks and blues in the sky go well together and I love the strong contrast between the sky and the foreground.  I also like how the room overhangs and helps frame things in.   Light 2: Inside Pretty simple shot here.  I just placed a candle next to the gumball machine because it has the smooth surfaces
